As we mourn the transitioning of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend our hearts are heavy, our tears are many; and we realize that God´s time is not man´s time; so we honor God for the eighty-six years Jack lived on earth.
Jack Ruth was born April 18, 1933, to the late Leroy Ruth and the late Jannie Mae Singleton Ruth, in Hampton, SC. He was called home to rest on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his residence in Varnville, SC.
He was educated in the public school system of Hampton County. In 1956, he left South Carolina and began his new start in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was employed at the Kennedy Space Center for 36 years as a custodian. He also was employed at Cocoa Beach High School for 36 years as a custodian until his retirement.Jack was affectionately known by all those who love him as “Bubba”. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Cocoa, FL, under the leadership of Rev. W.O. Wells Sr. When he returned to SC, he went back to his home church, Second Thankful Missionary Baptist.
He will be remembered by his loved ones for his love of Pepsi and peanuts.
He was married to the late Edith Hamilton Ruth; one son was born to this union.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Leroy Ruth and Jannie Mae Ruth Wright; his siblings, Bernice Griffin, Peter Ruth, and Leroy Ruth Jr.; his grandson, Nakia M. Ruth.
His memories and legacy will forever be in the hearts of his sons, Arthur “Bobby” (Ethel) Ruth and Danny Bennett; daughters, Sabrina Hamilton Harley, Velma (Reverend Wayne) Carter, Vashon Berry; siblings, Carrie (John) Cohen, Shirley W. Brown, Lindsey (Loretta) Wright and Mary Duncan; brothers-in-law, Marvin Griffin Sr., Otis (Edna) Hamilton, Marion Hamilton; sisters-in-law; Martha Capers, Reatha Hamilton, and Helen Hamilton; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his God-children of Cocoa , FL, Ethel Jones and James Dunlap; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
