Sam Brown, Jr. Obituary

God didn't give a person here on earth the power to determine his/her time or date of departure. He knew that we would live our lives recklessly and attempt to live accordingly to His words prior to departure, so that we can make it into the Gates of Heaven. God demands that we live Holy so that our final resting place will be with Him and he stated in Psalm 9-;10, " A man's years of life are three scores and ten (seventy), and if by reason of strength  they might be eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.

Today, we give reverence to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing the late Sam Junior Brown and the late Janie McPherson Brown with a beautiful son on June 7, 1944 in Hampton County, South Carolina.

God sent his Holy Angels to claim His very own on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  If only, we could be in his presence just one more time. We just need to hear his voice, see his beautiful smile, or feel his special touch. We realize that God is in control, our faith will comfort us, but it still doesn’t lessen the pain.

Sam was a member of the Estill Training School Class of 1964. At an early age, Sam became a member of First Thankful Baptist Church. In 1972, Sam was employed by CSX Railroad and remained with them until his retirement in June 2004.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ethel Bell Gordon on June 5, 1965 and to this union one child was born.

He leaves his legacy to live on with his family as they celebrate his memories: A loving and devoted wife of fifty-three years, Teacher Ethel Bell Gordon Brown, Estill, SC; daughters,  Angela Brown Perkins, Atlanta, GA and Pastor Mary Ann (James) Housey, Estill, SC; sisters,  Annie Mae Lagrone, Pine Bluff, AR and Brenda  Brown-Willis, Oakland, TN; brother, Johnny Brown, Estill, SC; four grandchildren, Antavious (Janea) Frazier, Malcolm Brown, James T.
