Albert Beckley, Sr Obituary

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

                                     II TIMOTHY 4:7

Albert Curtis Beckley, Sr., of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at the age of 74, at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 11, 1949, in Troy, Alabama, and spent his life surrounded by those who loved him. He lived a full and meaningful life, one rooted in his love for family and community. He was a man of great strength, kindness, and humor who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially when surrounded by those he loved. Albert was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and educated in the Glynn County School System. He continued being a pillar of the community through his employment at King and Prince and being a talented mechanic. He had a unique gift of making people feel comfortable and valued, always ready with a joke or a witty remark that left everyone smiling. Behind that playful spirit was a man with a heart of gold—someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement, or give whatever he could to those in need. Whether it was through a small gesture or a grand act of kindness, Albert’s willingness to give made him a cherished figure in his community.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Bell Beckley, and his siblings: Johnnie Frank Jones (Dannie), Willie Frank Jones (Virginia), Sara Bell Crawford, and Ann Elizabeth Heath. Albert’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his love and legacy will live on through his family.

Albert was a devoted husband to his wife, Flossie Beckley, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, joy, and partnership. He was a proud and loving father to his children: Albert Curtis Beckley Jr., Adrienne Johnson (Glenn), and Summer Welch. His role as a grandfather was a source of immense pride and joy, as he cherished his seven grandchildren: Alaysia Beckley, A’shaunté Beckley, AyJanna Potter, Albert Curtis Beckley III, Aziyah Beckley, Austin Beckley, and Amir Beckley. He is also survived by his dear sister, Ruby Lee Anderson (Eugene), and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family is comforted by the knowledge that Albert is now at peace, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who were lucky enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that will continue to inspire all who carry his memory in their hearts. Rest in peace, Albert Curtis Beckley, Sr. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
