A page has been turned; the chapter of my life is now completed. As you celebrate the final chapter of my life, please remember the battle I fought to remain on earth with each of you. A victory has been won, a life’s book closed, and it was all part of God’s plan for me. Don’t worry about me, I have gone on to be with other loved ones who have gone before me.
Everything that comes from God is pure and blessed. Alice Barnes Agent was born in Savannah, Georgia, on July 29, 1929, to the late Harry Barnes, Sr., and Victoria Stevens Barnes. She attended the Chatham County school system in Savannah, Georgia. Alice diligently worked and held several jobs throughout her lifetime until her retirement.
Alice met and married the love of her life, Woodrow Agent, Sr., in 1945. The couple remained married for approximately six years. Alice never remarried.
Although she was not affiliated with any organized religion or church, Alice was a spiritual person who believed in God and read the Bible often. In her spare time, Alice loved to cook. She enjoyed creating recipes and inviting other family members to taste her creations. In her earlier years, Alice loved going out and being with family and friends. She often hosted family dinners at her home in Spring Bluff in Camden County, Georgia, on weekends and holidays.
No man knows the time of day when their earthy days are over. Alice fell asleep in death on December 6, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bernice Harrison and Thelma Graham; and brothers, Nathaniel Barnes, Harry Barnes, Jr., and Joe Bradman.
Alice is survived by her son, Woodrow “Buddy” Agent, Jr., of Brunswick, Georgia; granddaughter, Leesa Agent-Postell of Jacksonville, Florida; grandson, Jeffrey Agent of Brunswick, Georgia; two siblings, Clarence “Mickey” Barnes of Brunswick, Georgia, and Minnie Sample of Hinesville, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives
