Alice Johnson Obituary

Alice Quarterman Johnson was born on February 17, 1932, to the late Joseph and Rebecca Quarterman in Brunswick, Georgia. She received her formal education at Risley High School in Brunswick, Georgia. Alice Quarterman Johnson accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Grace United Methodist Church where she served as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher. She later became a member of Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school superintendent and church mother.

Alice Quarterman was united in holy matrimony with Goesbur Johnson in Brunswick, Georgia. Their union was blessed with four children: William Clyde (Brenda) Johnson, Sr., Sandra J. Johnson, James E. (Priscilla) Johnson, and Sheldon Glenis (Edna) Johnson, Sr. In her leisure, she enjoyed attending religious functions, gardening,
shopping, and spending time with her five generations of offspring. She was employed by SunTrust Bank, formerly known as First National Bank, as a recordkeeper for over 25 years. She was a lifetime member of Risley High School Alumni Association and a lifetime member of the Rose Garden Club.

God saw Alice’s struggles and pain, so He sent His angels to reclaim His very own on September 4, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rebecca Quarterman.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, William Clyde (Brenda) Johnson, Sr., Sandra J. Johnson, James E. (Priscilla) Johnson, and Sheldon Glenis (Edna) Johnson, Sr.; two loving sisters, Marion Nobles and Ethel Quarterman; several grandchildren; three loving goddaughters, Barbara A. Green, Susie Cooley, and Beverly Lewis; and
a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
