Alvenia Claudette Gibbs Wilson was born November 23, 1953, to the late Alvin C. and Frances C. Gibbs of Brunswick, Georgia.
Alvenia attended Risley High School and graduated from Glynn Academy High in 1971. Alvenia also attended Brunswick Junior College, now known as the College of Coastal Georgia. She worked as a secretary in housekeeping at Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital, now known as Southeast Georgia Regional Health System, and worked in the Glynn County School System as a paraprofessional in the special education department. She also worked as a clerk with Today’s Beauty Hair Salon before retirement.
Alvenia was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witnesses in November 1978 and faithfully served for forty-four years as a publisher and often worked as an auxiliary pioneer. She loved going out in the ministry and talking to others about God’s Kingdom and the hope it has for mankind.
Alvenia met a young kat, Jasper L. Wilson, in high school who played the saxophone, and they remained friends for many years and throughout their courtship. They were married on December 22, 1979. From their union, a son was born. Alvenia and Jasper were busy being newlyweds and new parents along with their service to Jehovah. They traveled and spent as much time together as they could. Alvenia was very stylish, creative, and poised. She loved to sew and made most of her clothes. She was a prankster, at times very talkative and she was the family historian.
