Born in Hampton, South Carolina, Arthur Lee Saxon was the son of the late Deacon John Saxon, Sr., and the late Essie Bell Taylor Saxon. He lived a full and meaningful life, one rooted in his love for family, sports, and community. He was a man of great strength, kindness, and humor who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially when surrounded by those he loved. Arthur was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. One of Arthur’s greatest passions was sports. In his younger years, he was an avid football player, enjoying the thrill of the game and the camaraderie it brought. As he grew older, his love for sports transitioned to his favorite pastime—watching basketball. A lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Arthur was often found cheering on his team, whether in the comfort of his home or surrounded by family and friends.
Family was everything to Arthur. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, whether it was during family holidays or the many trips they took together over the years. These moments were the foundation of his happiest memories. Arthur’s home was always open, and his heart even more so. He was known for his infectious laughter, his unwavering loyalty, and his ability to make everyone feel like they belonged. Arthur’s kindness and warmth left an impression on everyone who met him. He was a man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offering his support and love to those in need. His life was a testament to the power of family, the joy of shared experiences, and the enduring bond of love. Arthur’s life was certainly “No Crystal Stair”; however, the Lord told us in His Word that “Man born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble.” Thank God that this is not the end of our story.

His love and guidance shaped their lives, and his memory will live on through them.
