Benny Irvin Obituary

Benny Lloyd Irvin was born on August 25, 1968, in St. Augustine, Florida, to his loving parents, Earnest and Bernice Irvin. He received his formal education in the St. Augustine High School System, where he built the foundation for a life marked by service, kindness, and unwavering faith.

At an early age, Benny accepted Christ as his Savior, beginning a lifelong walk with the Lord. He united with Greater Works Ministries, where he served faithfully as an ordained Deacon and a dedicated member of the finance department. Later, he continued his service at Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral, where he humbly served as an usher. Benny’s devotion to ministry was evident in the way he lived: steadfast, joyful, and always willing to serve others.

On July 7, 2001, Benny was united in holy matrimony to Marketia Spaulding on the beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia. Their union was blessed with one daughter, I’sis Eikner; and later with the joy of a grandson, Pax Howard; along with two cherished goddaughters, Shantel Harris and Alexia Howard. Benny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and godfather, whose love for his family was deep and unwavering.

Benny enjoyed a life rich with simple pleasures and meaningful moments. He found joy in reading the Word of God, watching live sports, singing, sharing laughter through his unforgettable jokes, and cracking his signature sauces. He especially loved spending time outdoors and watching his grandson play, which were moments that brought him pure delight.

On June 14, 2026, Benny peacefully departed this life. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Earnest and Bernice Irvin; and his loyal pet dog, Angel Irvin.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Markeita Irvin; daughter, I’sis Eikner; grandson, Pax Howard; sisters, Jeanette Irvin, Deidra Kelsey, and Brenda Braswell; nephews, Victor James, Sr., and Victor James, Jr.; great-nephew, Derrius; uncles, Lloyd Irvin, MD, and Gary (Teresa) Taylor; aunt, Ariel Denise (Carlton) Lewis; sister-in-law, Marquita Cross; brothers-in-law, Antonio She eld and Rodney Ricks; nieces, Shamia Cross (Marquice) Hines, Zy’on Hines, and Zyla Hines; nephew, George Vincent Cross, Jr.; goddaughters, Shantel Harris and Alexia Howard; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Benny’s life was a testament to faith, family, and service. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and steadfast love will continue to shine through the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
