Cecil Moses Obituary

My earthly journey has come to an end after eighty-seven years of many trials and tribulations. God promised all mankind three scores and ten and if by reason of strength, there might be more. He gave me the strength to live seventeen additional years. Please find comfort in knowing that I have no regrets whatsoever, but I was ready to make my heavenly journey. As a family, you must accept God’s will and abide by his holy words. The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body, is to be in the presence of the Lord.

Cecil A. Moses was born on January 28, 1938, to Lucy Bryd and Zonnie Adkins, Sr., in Montezuma, Georgia. Cecil received her formal education at Risley High School in Brunswick, Georgia. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of twelve and was united with St. Paul Baptist Church. Cecil Adkins was united in holy matrimony with Andrew “Cluck” Moses on October 15, 1955, in Brunswick, Georgia. T heir union was blessed with seven children, Debra, Anthony “Tony”, Charles “Todd,” Andrew “Pandy,” Alfonzio “Deack,” Darryl, and Sandra.

In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends when she wasn’t watching her game shows and soap operas. She loved to cook for anyone that came to her house or for the holidays. She was employed by Southeast Georgia Health System as a head cook for over twenty years. Cecil A. Moses departed this life on February 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Cluck” Moses; mother, Lucy Bryd; father, Zonnie Adkins, Sr.; children, Anthony “Tony”, Debra, and Darryl; and brothers, Eli Thompson, Sr. and Zonnie Adkins, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Charles “Todd” Moses, Alfonzio “Deack” (Lynn) Moses, and Andrew “Pandy” Moses; daughter, Sandra Stahl; sisters, Gwendolyn (Harold) Wynn and Lois Blackburn; stepsister, Betty Jean Byrd (Joe) Rivers; sister-in-law and a brother-in-law; several grands; great grands, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
