The Life * The Legacy * The Timeline
The Beginning
On December 7, 1937, in Glennville, Georgia, the breath of God blew upon the earth and this man became a living soul. Apostle Harry Brown entered this world already marked by the hand of God to Wilbert and Laressa Brown. Even in childhood, he carried an unusual calmness, a deep spiritual sensitivity, and a heart full of compassion. As a young man, he was drawn to prayer, the Word, and the presence of God. What began as a quiet devotion would later evolve into a powerful calling that would touch thousands across the globe.
The Husband
In 1954, Apostle Brown met Lottie Mae, and their love story began for 71 amazing years. Their marriage was a sacred union that reflected Christ’s love and faithfulness. Their love for the Lord, each other, and people made them a magnet for God’s favor and blessings. Together, they built not just a family but a legacy. Apostle Brown and Lottie Brown were blessed by the Grace of God and through His healing power to birth 11 children.
The Teacher
God gave Apostle Brown wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the Word and scriptures to teach. He gifted Apostle Brown with the ability to correctly analyze and skillfully teach the Word of God with profound insight and revelation. At the age of 16, Apostle Brown was ordained into the call of God. He moved to New York City, where he began to run different revivals. His first big revival was held in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in Gastonia, North Carolina. Apostle Brown taught not to doubt anything when you pray; love the Lord, listen and obey; take authority in the name of Jesus and don’t take it lightly; practice doing the work and exercise your gift; know that you have the victory through Christ Jesus; and believe that it’s ALREADY done! His anointed and powerful teaching gift attracted the attention of many as he traveled throughout the world. One of his favorite sayings,” You don’t have to have the faith, I got the Faith,” meaning that he had the faith to believe that God would heal, “Quick, Now, and In a Hurry”. In 2012, Apostle was honored with a Doctor of Ministry.
The Evangelist
In the early 1960s, God led Apostle Brown, along with his wife Lottie, to Brunswick, Georgia, to run a revival for the Pillar Ground in Truth. At this revival, many souls were saved, and people began to follow him. Apostle Brown was the first to come to Brunswick, working signs and miracles through the gift of healing. In 1962, Holy Band of Inspiration, D.T. Inc., was envisioned and built, conducting tent revivals in Brunswick, Georgia. In 1962, Apostle Brown conducted the first baptism during the General Assembly at Selden Park with 115 candidates, and in 1972, 175 candidates were baptized.
The Prophet
The love that Apostle Brown had for people that God entrusted to Him, regardless of the state they were in, was genuine. Under the leading of the Holy Ghost, Apostle Brown has established and organized some of the country’s greatest churches in the world. The impact of his life and ministry in these cities rings loud and clear even in his absence. Apostle Brown birthed over 12 churches in several cities and states. Holy Band of Brunswick Headquarters (1965); Holy Band of Ocala, Florida (1966); Holy Band #1 of Santos, Florida (1968); Holy Band of Brooksville, Florida (1965); Holy Band of Palmetto, FL (1972); Holy Band of Hawthorne (1971); Holy Band of Monroe, North Carolina (1966); Holy Band of Waycross, Georgia (1965); Holy Band of Blackshear, Georgia (1968); Holy Band of Fort Lauderdale, Florida (1968) and Holy Band of Atlanta, Georgia (2008).
The Bishop
Known as “the miracle man,” Apostle has helped many people with testimonies of having no more pain after he laid his hands and applied the virtue of God. So many times, the Lord has sent Apostle Brown on healing cases to put broken bones back together, grow out limbs, open blind eyes, unstop deaf ears, close wombs, and heal all manner of sickness and diseases, including COVID. With His motto: “Have Faith...Will Travel” Apostle has traveled to many different states, London, England, Canada and the Bahamas. In the year 2002, he, along with his healing team, traveled to Africa where they delivered people from witchcraft and all types of conditions. While in Africa, he told of the goodness of Jesus and all that He had done through him, but because of the
language barrier, many didn’t understand him, and he didn’t understand them. He began to sing and whistle his favorite song, “Let Everybody Say Amen,” and that is where everything broke and the people of Africa began to sing and shout along with him.
The Apostle
Apostle Brown’s walk with God has not always been easy, as he faced many trials and fought many battles. However, it was during these times that he remained steadfast, faithful, and unmovable because he was reminded that the battle was not his, it was the Lord’s. Called by God, Apostle Brown was not only a Prince in the Lord’s church, but the Lord graced him with an apostolic anointing to expand the Kingdom and work of God. He founded ministries, nurtured leaders, and carried a mantle that disrupted demonic strongholds and restored broken places. His voice echoed the Kingdom, and his footsteps led countless souls toward Christ. His obedience to God was resolute, and his love for God’s people, unwavering. As an Apostle, Apostle Brown has traveled the length of the United States, preaching thousands of revivals and crusades where souls were inspired, sinners were saved, the bound were set free, bodies were healed, and lives were
restored. Apostle has created long-lasting friendships, often bridging the gap between the saved and unsaved. Wherever he went and all those he met felt his love, his generosity, and his willingness to help anyone.
The Gospel Legend – The Miracle Hand
Apostle Harry Brown was known across nations as “The Man with the Miracle Hand.” Through him, the divine gift of healing and deliverance was mightily revealed. He was not a man of performance but of divine power. When he laid hands on the sick: virtue flowed, blind eyes opened, tumors disappeared, the paralyzed walked, and the tormented were set free. He moved in the spirit of faith, not just faith in God; but the very faith of God, standing in the gap for unbelievers and watching miracles unfold by divine authority. His hands became the point of contact for supernatural virtue to flow, not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God. He often said, “It’s not the hand, it’s the virtue—this is God’s work.” His healing crusades were marked by worship, the Word, and waves of healing power. He walked with boldness, clothed in humility, and left no doubt that Jesus Christ was still healing the sick through yielded vessels. In every role, he was a trailblazer, fulfilling each one with humility and the love that comes from God. Everywhere he went and, in every assignment, he shared the love and the light of Christ, touching, encouraging, and blessing those around him.
From Bishops, pastors, to laymen of the church, phrases as “the men with the healing hands”, “the Divine Healer”, were descriptive characteristics illuminating the ministry of Apostle Harry Brown. He possessed an uncanny and unique anointing, captivating the minds and spirits of people every time he healed. Under Apostle Brown’s leadership, Holy Band was known as the place where people came for salvation, transformation, healing, wholeness, hope and deliverance. Over the years, God showed Himself to be faithful by showering the ministry with favor, where hundreds of people were saved, and their lives transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit. Also, through the work of this ministry, Apostle birthed hundreds of spiritual sons and daughters, who are now serving in various capacities within the Gospel ministry.
The Reward
Apostle Brown led people according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands. He was blessed with a century of life, witnessing generations growing up, and leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. He carried with him the legacy of African heritage– one of perseverance, dignity, and unwavering faith. On the 15th of May, God in His infinite wisdom called Apostle Harry Brown, the founder and CEO of Holy Band of Inspiration Deliverance Temple, Inc., to his eternal rest. His earthly tabernacle got tired and weary. He knew that he had a building that was made without hands, but eternal in the heavens. After decades of faithfulness, he exchanged his earthly mantle for a heavenly crown. Apostle will forever be spoken of as a Godly husband, father, grandfather (aka “papa”), founder, pastor, preacher, teacher, evangelist, apostolic father, counselor, and gentle giant, BUT mostly as a “Divine Healer” who clearly
understood his God-appointed assignment. Therefore, let it be so documented in the registry of the righteous that in the life of this great man, destiny was fulfilled, and divine purpose was accomplished.
