Clifford Campbell Obituary

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4

My life was beautiful for as long as it lasted, but the journey of my life has come to an end after seventy-nine years. God promised all mankind three scores and ten. He gave me nine additional years. As a family, you must accept God’s will and abide by his holy words. The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord.

Clifford W. Campbell was born on August 12, 1944, to Clarence Campbell and Rosa Mae Watson in Brunswick, Georgia. He was the sixth child of six boys. Clifford W. Campbell received his formal education in the Glynn County public school system and was a graduating member of the Risley High School Class of 1963. Clifford W. Campbell was a man of God and attended a host of churches in Brunswick, GA.

Clifford W. Campbell enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1963 at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for several years in Bridgeport, CT, and retired from the city of Bridgeport to take care of his mother.

Clifford enjoyed cooking for his family. It brought joy to him watching his family enjoy the meals he prepared for them. The dinner table was the gathering place. He loved to listen to jazz music and loved his Cadillacs, especially the grey one. He also loved to talk about sports with his son, Israel. They would talk about the Air Force and family history. He was very passionate about African art. He also enjoyed making African jewelry and African paintings. He had a certain style. He loved to dress, shop, and play the lottery.

Clifford W. Campbell departed this life on January 27, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Campbell and Rosa Mae Watson; and four brothers, Otis Sr., William, Clarence, and Howard.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his two sons, Kwame Campbell of New York, NY, and Israel Campbell of Bridgeport, CT; daughters, Iman Campbell (Marcus) of Columbia, SC, and Jasmine Campbell of Bridgeport, CT; one brother, Stephen (Ana) Watson of Orlando, FL; devoted sister-in-law, Leddie Burnett Watson of Miramar, FL; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Jaylynn, Julian, Israel, Aryel, and Tristian; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
