Darrien Luther Brown

We are here to celebrate the life of Darrien Luther Brown, who departed this life on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 18, 1967, he was the only son of the late Lucille Simmons and Earl Simmons of Cross, South Carolina. He graduated from Cross High School in 1985 and continued his educational career at Denmark Technical College. While at Denmark Technical College, he built lifelong friendships and took pride in being a proud member of the H Phi H Social Society. With the knowledge and skills acquired through his training and experience, he was employed and worked diligently at Broad Creek Public Services for over 25 years.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Lela Williams on January 27, 1995. In this union, they were blessed with a daughter, Kharisma Brown, and a son, Darrien Brown, Jr.

Darrien Brown was preceded in death by his mother, the late Lucille Simmons of Cross, SC. He leaves to cherish his legacy: his devoted wife, Mrs. Lela M. Brown of Estill, SC; his children, Clematria Williams of Estill, SC, Constance Hayes of Bayonne, NJ, Kharisma Brown of Greenville, SC, and Darrien Brown of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, McKinley Gadson and Emori Williams of Estill, SC; his father, Earl Simmons of Cross, SC; mother and father-in law; Mrs. and Mr. Marion Williams; several brothers and sisters-in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

Due to the current state of (COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, as ordered by the Governor for the State of South Carolina, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside services must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home at any given period during the viewing process.  We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative to each of you for  your prayers and considerations during this difficult time in their lives
