Dawana Anderson Obituary

Dawana Michelle Anderson was born on August 3, 1968, to Geraldine Allen and Ulysses Burnett in Brunswick, Georgia. She received her formal education in the Glynn County School System and graduated from Brunswick High School. Determined to continue her growth, she furthered her studies at the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick. Dawana accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age, a commitment that shaped her character, her compassion, and the way she cared for others throughout her life.

Dawana was first united in holy matrimony to Roger Elliott Singleton, Jr., and their union was blessed with one son, Roger Elliott Singleton III. She later married Ithemas Anderson, and together they were blessed with two children, Kalyn Anderson and Ithemas Anderson, Jr.

Dawana found joy in the things that brought her peace and connection which were spending time with her family, decorating her home with her signature style, shopping, and treating herself to beautiful nails. She had a warm spirit and a natural gift for making any space feel welcoming.

Professionally, Dawana dedicated her life to serving others. She was employed with Southeast Georgia Health System for seven years, Focus by the Sea for thirteen years, and Gateway Behavioral Services for eight years. Her work reflected her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to helping individuals and families in need.

On June 11, 2026, Dawana Michelle Anderson peacefully departed this life. She was preceded in death by her father, Ulysses Burnett; stepfather, Ellis Allen, Jr.; and aunt, Linda C. Bradley.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, Roger Elliott Singleton III, Kalyn Ayana Anderson (Antonio), and Ithemas Anderson, Jr., (A’Naya); devoted mother, Geraldine Allen; precious grandchildren, Kylie Michelle Caine, London Lewis, Ri’yana Singleton, Eddy Ann Barnes, Nova Anderson, and Aurby Green; brother, Ellis Allen III (Valerie); aunts, Helen Tomkins (Fred), Carolyn Sapp, Barbara Fuller, and Edith Penny (Charles); uncles, Vernon Wright, Darrell Wright, and Willie McKenzie; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
