The late Mrs. Delores Walker was born on June 16, 1942, in Swainsboro, Georgia, to the late Annie M. Wells. She was raised by her stepfather, Lonnie Wells. Delores was also reared by her grandparents, Fannie Mae and Alex Walker. She attended elementary school in Burke County school system. Later in life, they moved to Brunswick, Georgia, where she attended school and graduated from Risley High School.
She started her own business as a private chef and housekeeper. She then became a member of United House of Prayer under the tutelage of Daddy Grace in Savannah, Georgia. She became the mother of a beautiful baby girl, Miss Shelia Diann Goodall, who she worked very hard to take care of, and she also took very good care of her grandmother, Mrs. Fannie Walker, until her death. She adopted a beautiful child, Temika Williams. She raised Jaqudra Walker and Faith Walker. She also raised the love of her life, Rhashana R. Ricks, her granddaughter.
Delores had one much-loved hobby and that was cooking. She was the best cook around. She worked in a lot of private homes on Sea Island. She worked until her health failed, and she then went to Jesup Rehabilitation. She was there until her death.
On March 6, 2025, a call came from above, Jesus said, “Delores your pain is over, my child. Just take my hand and come with me to your new home to be with the loved ones who preceded you in death, your mother, Annie Mae Wells; stepfather, Lonnie Wells; grandparents, Fannie and Alex Walker; daughter, Shelia Diann Goodall Mitchell; granddaughter, Rashanna Renee Ricks; brother, Willie P. Walk er; and sister-in-law, Carolyn M. Walker; godmother, Lizzie Mack; godfather, Robert Mack, Jr. and nephew, Eddie Napper; god sister, Josephine Harrell; and godbrother, Robert Mack, III. She passed away on her godmother’s birthday, a woman she greatly loved.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her adopted daughter, Temika Williams of Brunswick, GA; two granddaughters, Gabriella Williams and Madilyn Williams, both of Brunswick, GA; brothers, James Walker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Alfred Hughes of Jacksonville, FL; one niece, Chakalia Walker of New York; two nephews, Moses Walker and Sean Walker, both of Brunswick, GA; three god sisters, Cheryl (Lee) Raiford and Brenda Bailey, both of Brunswick, GA, and Cynthia (Willie) Williams of Gainesville, FL; two godbrothers, Michael Mack of Ohio and Eddie (Ruby) Vail of Atlanta, GA; two goddaughters, Catrina Spencer of Atlanta, GA, and Jackie Collins of Brunswick, GA; one godson, Carl Halyard of Brunswick, GA; four loving friends, Anita Gates of Atlanta, GA, Wilma Gardner, Betty Jean Slay, and Mildred Short, all of Bruns wick, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
