Williams, Sr., and Elizabeth (Gibbs) and Furman Johnson, all of whom showered her with love. Her fathers and all grandparents preceded her in death.
Denise was educated in the Glynn County public school system. She attended Burroughs Molette Elementary, Glynn Middle School, and was a 1986 graduate of Glynn Academy; she also
attended Brunswick, Jr., College.“Niecey,” as she was affectionately called by her family and close friends, attended the family church, First Bryant Baptist Church, during her early childhood days and was very active in youth studies and activities sponsored by the church. She was one of the original members of the Reverend J. F. Mann Sunbeam Children’s Choir. Later in her early adult life, she accepted Jesus as her savior, made a profession of faith, and attended Maranatha Baptist Church.
Denise was the mother of one child, Serah Chardanne Williams, born to her and Lancelot Ellison, on March 2, 1988. After nine years of friendship and courtship, Denise was united
in holy matrimony with Robert Anthony Holland on July 6, 2002, sharing a total of twenty-nine years. They lived their best life the entire time.
Denise’s first work experience was as a lifeguard at the Howard Coffin Park swimming pool in Brunswick, Georgia. At the age of sixteen, after years of lessons, she became a confident swimmer. She was also employed as a houseparent with Glynn County’s Mental Health Adult Group Home Service. Denise had a huge culinary interest and love for cooking. She was employed as a cook at the Royal Café in downtown Brunswick and at Jane Macon Middle School. She would spend hours watching the food channels and loved trying new recipes, even creating her own. Denise loved dancing all of her life. She began dance lessons with the Gail Moore Schools of Dance at the age of six. She also danced with Eleanor Brooks Dance School. Between the two, there were eleven years of tap, ballet, jazz, and gymnastics recitals. In spite of some health obstacles as a child and in adulthood, Neicey enjoyed life. She was blessed with three grandchildren, two boys and the most recent, a beautiful baby girl born April of this year, that the Lord allowed her to enjoy for five months.
On September 29, 2022, two days after her birthday at approximately 9:15 AM, she won her battle with illness when the Lord said, “That’s enough, come home.” It was a gain for her. Bless His holy name!!!!
