Desiree Lee Coleman Southall was born on May 20, 1956 to Mary E. Coleman and James Southall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her formal education at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA. She furthered her education at O. I. C. School in Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Desiree Lee Coleman Southall accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age an was united with St. Luke Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. She later joined Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Kingsland, GA.
In 1978, Desiree returned back to Brunswick, GA to Rosa G & Spence Waye. During her returne back to Brunswick, Desiree Lee Coleman then met and was later united in holy matrimony with John Wesley Southall, Jr. on December 8, 1980. Their union was blessed with four children: Christopher J. Coleman, MoNique S. Coleman, Rosalyn J. VanBlount and Johnathan W. Southall, Sr.
In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling, her family and friends, a good party or gathering, working and above all else her grandchildren!!. She was employed by Securitas at Gulfstream and Safe Harbor as a security guard and house parent.
Desiree Lee Coleman Southall departed this life on April 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her son: Christopher J. Coleman and her mother: Mary Coleman Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory mother: Rosa G. Waye; husband: John Southall, Jr., daughters: Rosalyn VanBlount (Clay) and Monique Coleman; son: Johnathan Southall, Sr.; siblings: James Smith, Jr., Charles Smith, Linda Washington, Bessie Jean Sibert (Bobby), Carolyn Marie Dunn, James Howard Smith, Steve Smith, Vanessa Melvin, Cynthia Smith, Roger Keith, Evangeline Coleman-Lewis, John F.
