Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:25-26
If there is anything that I can do, or kindness that I can show to mankind, I always obliged, for I always knew that I would never pass this way again. This is why, when Death came to my door, I answered because I was ready to go. I knew that my departure would cause each of you so much pain, but I could not stay another day.
Eddie Lee Nelson III was born on December 9, 1974, to Eddie and Carol Nelson in North Miami Beach, Florida. Eddie received his formal education at Glynn Academy High School in Brunswick, Georgia. He furthered his education at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. Eddie accepted Christ as his Savior at First Jordan Grove Baptist Church at an early age and later united with the New Unified Johnson Temple where he served as Brother Nelson.
His personal hobby was making bow ties and his favorite color was blue. He enjoyed making people laugh, spending time with his family and friends, and going to church.
On May 11, 2023, Eddie “Skeet” Nelson III, the one we loved so dearly, stepped across the threshold that we call death. He had an appointment with his Heavenly Father, the giver and taker of life. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Nelson, Jr.; aunt, Pearlie Stanley; and grandparents, Elnora McCrae, Eddie Lee Nelson, Sr., and Tom and Matilda Brantley.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Carol Nelson; sisters, Della Brantley, Nora Nelson, and Shaquenth Nelson; brothers, Darius Brantley, Edward Nelson, Michael Nelson, and Tommie Nelson; aunts, Louise Brantley, Junita Greer, Gloria Mountain, and Christine Lott; uncles, Willie McCrae and Arthur (Beverly) Nelson; seventeen nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
