Ernest Lewis, Jr. Obituary

With profound sorrow and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Ernest, who was called home on February 3, 2026. Ernest passed peacefully in the arms of his loving mother, surrounded by love.

Ernest was born on February 23, 1993, to his mother, Selena Heggs Antwi, and his, father, Ernest Edward Lewis, Sr. From the very beginning, Ernest displayed a natural understanding of the world around him and a strong desire to learn.

He received his education in the Halifax County School System, and in June 2011, he proudly graduated from Southeast Halifax High School in Halifax, North Carolina.

Growing up, Ernest had many creative and thoughtful interests. His hobbies included origami, drawing, building with Legos and K'NEX toys, and collecting Hot Wheels race cars. Most of all, he loved video games, which became a lifelong passion. Ernest cherished spending time with his family and friends, and in his quiet moments, he enjoyed reading and learning about a wide variety of subjects. This love for learning influenced his creativity and helped build the strong, intelligent mind he was known for.

In 2013, Ernest moved to Brunswick, Georgia, with his family. In 2018, he joined the Golden Isles Grizzlies football team as an Offensive Lineman (O-Line), proudly wearing jersey number 77. He was coached by Head Coach Shawn Brown and Assistant Coaches Michael Willis, Aiden Manley, and Cornelius Richardson. Ernest was part of the first Georgia team to win a Florida Semi-Pro Championship in the state of Florida, an accomplishment he took great pride in.

On PlayStation, Ernest was a devoted member of the gaming group Galaxy for over six years. What began as gaming grew into a close-knit family. Together, they played the latest games, live-streamed, and created original gaming ideas. This was where Ernest's artistic talents, knowledge, creativity and hard work truly came together and shined.

Ernest was also employed at TJ Maxx, where he worked with the Display Team. He was known for being helpful, cheerful, and dependable, always willing to support his coworkers and bring positivity to the team.

Ernest was a truly remarkable soul-a big, gentle giant with a kind heart and a loving spirit. He was known for his politeness, his intelligence, and his quiet strength. Ernest had a way of making people feel seen and valued, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer encouragement when it was needed most.

He inspired many through his kindness, his generosity, and his genuine care for others. Ernest carried himself with a majestic walk that reflected the dignity and goodness within him. He was deeply intelligent, with a strong passion for history and an exceptional knowledge of science. Learning came naturally to him, and he loved sharing what he knew.

One of Ernest's greatest passions was gaming, where his creativity and brilliance truly shined. He also had a love for art and computer art, using his imagination to create and express himself in powerful ways. Gaming was more than a hobby for him-it was a space where his mind, creativity, and joy came alive.

Above all else, Ernest was deeply loved. He was a cherished son, a bright light, and a beautiful soul whose presence brought warmth and love to all who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched.

Ernest will always be remembered for his kindness, his intelligence, his gentle nature, and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade.
