Florence Lee Wiggins Mitchell was born on April 3, 1963, to Sarah Mae Mack Wiggins and Ulysses LeCount in Nahunta, Georgia. Florence Lee Wiggins Mitchell received her formal education in Glynn County School System in Brunswick, Georgia.
She accepted Christ as her Savior in 2020 at the age of fifty-seven, and was united with City of Refuge Mission Family Worship Center, where she served as a member. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved being with her family, cooking, and playing with her grandchildren. She loved to listen to her gospel music while cleaning and cooking at home. No matter when you saw her, she was always in good spirits. Any time she was able, she was always in church. She would help anybody that was in need with food, shelter, and clothes. She had a heart of gold. She would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you needed it. If she had it, you had it. Florence was also the neighborhood babysitter. It didn’t matter if you had money or not, she still let them stay. Even in her last days, her spirit was still high.
Florence Lee Wiggins Michell departed this life on April 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Mungin.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Schantell Wiggins (Kyle) and Cassandra Mungin (Rondell); son, Lorenzo Wiggins (Mo); stepdaughter, Denise Johnson; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Shirley Ponder (Roosevelt), Mary Jenkins (Larry), and Tracey Mobley (Tyrone); brother, Alfonzo Wiggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Florence Lee Wiggins Mitchell, you fought a long time and never gave up. Rest on, we will always remember your words… Don’t worry about me GOD GOT ME!
