Gerald Gardner Obituary

“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” II Corinthians 5:1

GERALD KENNETH GARDNER was born on January 22, 1950, to Randall and Alberta Gardner in Brunswick, Georgia. Gerald received his formal education at Risley High School in Brunswick, Georgia. Gerald accepted Christ as his Savior at Needwood Baptist Church at an early age and was united with Payne Chapel AME, where he served as an usher and on the Trustee Board.

Gerald Gardner was united in holy matrimony with Louise Parrish on March 12, 1976, in Brunswick, Georgia. Their union was blessed with two children, Minne and Yvette. Family was the most important part of his living. He lived life through family affiliation. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time with family and friends. He was employed by T.I.C. Construction as a foreman for fifty years. This is a hard day, but in our sadness, we also find comfort in remembering the special moments we shared with Gerald. He was a kind, generous soul who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether it was through his acts of kindness, his unwavering support for family and friends, or simply by being there to listen. Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on in each of us.

Gerald Kenneth Gardner departed this life on March 17, 2025. He is now in the presence of God; his wife, Louise Parrish Gardner; parents, Randall and Alberta Gardner; brothers, Donald Gardner and William Gardner, Sr.; grandson, Antonio Clark; and great-grandchildren, King Caesar Clark and Mya Hughes.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Minnie Clark and Yvette (Marvin) Chaney; four brothers, Randall Gardner, Jr., George (Carolyn) Gardner, Ronald (Marilyn) Gardner, and Alvin (Pamela) Gardner; three sisters, Debra Gardner, Yvette Gardner, and Yvonne (Westly) Haywood; six grandchildren, Trey Clark, Sr., Shantell Clark, Ikeaka Williams, Yvonne Clark, Alonzo Hayes, and Terrance Chaney; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
