Gloria Sistrunk

Gloria M. Sistrunk was born on December 2, 1953 to Ed Wesley Massey and Edna Foster Massey in Brunswick, Georgia. She received her formal education at Risley Middle School in Brunswick, GA. She furthered her education at Ralph J. Bunche/Camden County Training School in Woodbine, Georgia. She later became a Correctional Officer for the Glynn County Detention Center in Brunswick, GA, and then became a professional bus driver for many years, until she became very ill. Gloria M. Sistrunk accepted Christ as her Savior at Rising Daughter Baptist Church in Waverly, Georgia.

Gloria M. Sistrunk was united in holy matrimony with William Sistrunk in McIntosh County. Their union was blessed with seven children.

In her leisure, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren, cooking and spending time with her children; as well as, watching “The Young and the Restless.”

Gloria M. Sistrunk departed this life on November 2, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Wesley and Edna Foster Massey; sister, Susie M. White; brothers, Ed Wesley Massey, Jr., and Nathaniel Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Sabrina Sparkman (Keith), April White (Willie), Aaron Ramsey (Sophia) and Jerome Massey; twelve grandchildren, Steven Massey, Kyme Massey, Kevin Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Autumn Brantley, Aaliyah Staley, Aaron Massey, Jr., Caleb-Bart Appania, Samaria Shoemo, Jeromia Massey, Jazmine Massey, Sierra Massey-Lewis, Ariel Lesseur, Naomi Sistrunk, Shylaci Sistrunk and Dawnea Pinckey; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Massey; brother, Walter Massey, Jr.;  three nieces, two nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Due to the current state of (COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside services must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home at any given period during the viewing process.  We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative to each of you for all acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time in their lives.
