Henry Proctor Obituary

“I am confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from this body, and to be present with the Lord.” -2 Corinthians 5:8

I know that my sudden departure has left a void in your lives, but I knew that my time was coming to an end. When God heard my secret cry, His death angels came to take me to a better place. I don’t have to worry about sickness and pain anymore. I welcomed my departure from this land because this world was never meant to be my permanent home. Please don’t cry for me because there was so much peace and serenity on this journey. At the end of my journey, my master was there to welcome me home. My journey through this life is over, but my true life has just begun!

God the giver of life is the only person that decides when our life begins. Henry Lee Proctor was born on September 25, 1946, to the late Mr. Henry Proctor and late Lucille Proctor. He received his formal education at Risley High School in Brunswick, Georgia. Being raised in a household with a strong religious foundation, he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with The Pentecostal Church of God, where he served as a deacon and musician (guitarist.)

Henry’s love for music was the joy of his love. He enjoyed spending countless hours just playing his guitar. When not playing his guitar, he enjoyed just listening to gospel music. It wasn’t strange to get a telephone call from him because he was watching football and just wanted to talk about the game. He was also employed by the International Longshoreman Association #1423 as a Longshoreman until he retired.

Henry Lee Proctor departed this life on October 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry F. Proctor; mother, Mrs. Lucille Proctor; sisters, Mrs. Christine P. Anderson, Miss Minnie M. Proctor, Miss Bernice Proctor, Mrs. Betsy Bateman; and brother, Raymond Proctor.

He leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Annie Tripp; a devoted ex-wife, Emily Proctor; two stepsons, Keith Harris and Darrell (Lula) Harris; and a host of nephews (a devoted one, Marcus Anderson), nieces, other family members, and friends.
