Jacqueline Marie Smith was born to the late Willie Lee Mallory and James Mallory, Sr. on February 1, 1968. She entered into eternal rest on August 30, 2021 at her residence in Hilton Head, SC. “Jackie”, as she was affectionately known, became a member of St. Peter A.M.E. at an early age.
Jackie was educated in the public schools of Estill, SC. She began working in Hilton Head after leaving high school. She held many job titles which included cashier, associate, and manager. Whatever title she held, she ensured that she fulfilled her duties. She was employed with Circle K and Walgreens until her health failed. Everyone who knew Jackie knew that she always had a smile on her face, and one of her main goals in life was making others happy. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Mickey Mouse.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Lee Mallory; her father, James Mallory, Sr.; and one brother, Harry Mallory.
Jackie leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband, Demetrius Smith, Sr. of Fairfax, SC; five children, Mary Davidson of Trenton, NJ, Arthur Taylor (LaShonda) of Fairfax, SC. Shadae Taylor of Columbia, SC, Ari’ana Taylor of Allendale, SC, and Demetrius Smith, Jr. of Fairfax, SC; five grandchildren, Tyrin Davidson, Garmari Davidson, Tyrese Sanders, Janiya Taylor, and Ty’riana Taylor Maxwell; five sisters, Juel Mallory (Sammie) of Luray, SC, Jennie Mitchell (Michael) of Charlotte, NC, Hattie Mallory of Hilton Head, SC. Christine Brown (Herman) of Allendale, SC, Ann Bailey (Jerry) of Charleston, SC; five brothers, James Mallory, Jr. of Estill, SC, Willie Mallory (Elease) of Luray, SC, Charles Mallory (Shanise) of Varnville, SC, Ulyses Mallory of Sycamore, SC, and Rufus Mallory of Luray, SC; Three aunts, Mary Green of Estill, SC, Margaret Cohen of Estill, SC, and Daisy Fields of Paterson, NJ; four uncles, Arthur Green of Estill, SC, Melvin Cohen of Estill, SC, Abraham Beckett of Brunson, SC, and Rufus Mallory, Jr. of Estill, SC, a companion, Clarence Rhodin of the home; a special friend, Kirby Dove of Hilton Head; a special niece, Erin Mallory of Hilton Head; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Due to the current state of (COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside services must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home at any given period during the viewing process. We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative to each of you for your prayers and considerations during this difficult time in their lives.
The family is requesting that all guests wear white or a shade of blue clothing for the services.
