Janie Griffin Obituary

Reflections of Life

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8.

The Lord God Almighty sent his angel of mercy and kindness to grant our loved one peace at last, Janie V. Griffin was called home Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Janie V. Griffin graced this world on May 4, 1948 to the late Fred and Rosa Lee Robinson of Brunswick, GA.

She was educated at the Risley Junior and Senior High School of Glynn County, Brunswick, GA. Her favorite pastime was cooking, reading her bible, and spending time with family.

She never met a stranger wherever she went; and whomever she met, she left a lasting impression.

Janie entered the workforce at an early age, where she held many jobs: King Shrimp, Inc., Sea Board, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Housekeeping for many years, and she ended her working career with Sea Island Company after 5 years of service.

She was a faithful member of the O Street Church of God for many years until she began her fellowship with The Tabernacle, under the leadership of Pastor Florine Wilson, where she remained as a good and faithful servant.

She leaves a legacy of love that will always be cherished: her devoted husband for over 48 years, Marion “Grip” Griffin; her five children, Willie Lee (Barbara) Harrison, Fred A. Harrison, Sonja “Rose” Chapman, Bobby E. Addison, and Earlene W. (Jerry) Bull all of Brunswick, GA.; grandchildren, Shami D. Harrison, Craig A. Harrison, Christian L. Harrison, Miracle Harrison, Trinity F. Harrison, Byron K. Chapman ,Barbette I. Addison, Iyana A. Bull, and Jayden E. Bull;  one brother, Mr. St. Clair Howard of Brunswick, GA; one sister, Ruby M. Henderson preceded her in death; a host of grandchildren, great grands, in-laws, relatives, and friends
