Jeffrie Clark Obituary

“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

We belong to God; not only for a few fleeting years that we call life, but for eternity. We are in God’s presence in life, death, and everlasting; although, we must cross the river to receive our
crown of eternal life. I know my life appears to be brief, but I’ve lived an exciting and full life. God afforded me many wonderful opportunities, so don’t question him about sending his angels sooner than we all planned.
Jeffrie Patricia Clark was born on February 15, 1965, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, to the late Lenville and Dorethea Clark. She was lovingly named in honor of her maternal grandfather, Jefferson Allen. She spent her formative years between the Bronx, New York, and Ridgeland, South Carolina, which was her parents’ hometown. She attended Harry S. Truman High School in the Bronx, New York and graduated with high honors from Ridgeland High School and was a member of the Class of 1983.
Following high school, Jeffrie pursued higher education and had a professional career in banking in New York. After several years, she returned to Ridgeland, South Carolina, where she would make a lasting impact for more than two decades as a special education instructor with the Jasper County public school system. Her work was more than a profession; it was a calling. Jeffrie poured patience, compassion, and encouragement into every student she served, leaving an indelible mark on countless young lives.
Jeffrie attended St. Matthew Baptist Church in Ridgeland, South Carolina. She was a believer in Christ and walked by faith. Well-known for her friendly nature and family-oriented heart, Jeffrie was a familiar and welcome presence at family events, reunions, and celebrations. She cherished gathering moments and was deeply connected to the many special friends and relatives who loved her. Her laughter and kindness will be remembered always.
Jeffrie was the proud and loving mother of three beautiful daughters, Brittany “Le’Star” Orage, Bria Rufuschia Williams, and Judy Simone Williams. Her daughter Judy was named in honor of her beloved sister, a reflection of Jeffrie’s deep connection to family. She maintained a very close and loving relationship with her children and her grandson, Lee. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Judy and Bria.
In addition to her daughters, Jeffrie was preceded in death by her father; siblings, Chester Allen, Stephen Clark, Michael Clark, and Judy Clark; and aunts, Margie Wright and Barbara Allen. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Brittany Orage; beloved grandson, Lee Mosteller; mother, Dorethea C. Kirkland; and brother, Lenville Ronald Clark, all of Ridgeland, South Carolina. She is also lovingly remembered by her extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, the class of 1983, and a host of dear friends whose lives were made richer by knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to live on through the many hearts she touched in life.
