Jimmy White Obituary

Jimmy White was born on December 11, 1941, to the late Samuel Buster and Reaver White.  Jimmy honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and after service, he became a Boiler Repairman, which eventually led to him becoming an entrepreneur, owning his own boiler repair company in New York. Jimmy was born and raised in Miley, SC, but made New York his home, where he met and married the love of his life, Gerlean Capers. To this union, two wonderful children were born, Kimberly and Timmy White.

Jimmy and Gerlean made New York their home for over 30 years, but later retired and returned to their home state of South Carolina. Upon retirement, Jimmy became the community auto mechanic in Varnville, SC, which prompted his son to name his business White's Garage. To know Jimmy was to experience a quiet yet humble man that absolutely loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and family and always made sure they were well taken care of.   Jimmy was definitely a gentle giant of a man and a superhero to his children and grandchildren. Jimmy will be missed on this side, but his memories, love, and humble spirit we will always cherish, as he was sure to make memories for us to carry on with us.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving and caring wife of 58 years, Gerlean White; daughter, Kimberly (Chauncey)Solomon of Hampton SC; son, Timmy White of Waldorf, MD; grandchildren, Tykeem White of California, Asia Solomon of Varnville, Jaden White of New York, Chauncey Solomon, Jr., of Florida, Brittaney Solomon of Columbia, and Tabitha Risher of Brunson;  2 great-grandchildren of Columbia, SC; siblings: Gerald (Lois) White of Walene Penn, Ricky (Chevelle) White and  Randy (Malinda) White, preceding him in death siblings; Samuel White and Johnny White; niece like a daughter reared in the home, Debbie Gilmore; special sister- in-law, Violet (Sammie) Smith; special niece, PaSheena (Tito) Holmes; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
