“How precious is your steadfast love, Oh God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” – Psalm 36:7
In light of the sorrow in our hearts, it is with humble submission and reverence that we accept the will of God. Joseph M. Sanders, the son of the late Willie Harold and Mamie Graham, was born in Allendale County, on March 12, 1961. Joseph attended school in Allendale County, and graduated from Allendale-Fairfax High School. At an early age, he joined the family church, Gillette Baptist Church, in Allendale County, South Carolina. He enjoyed sports and outdoor craftsmanship. His passion for being an outdoorsman led him into a career in landscaping and the maintenance industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Harold and Mamie Graham Sanders, brother, Willie Sanders, Jr., and two sisters, Mamie Sanders and the lovely Angela Simmons.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a lovely and devoted wife of forty years, Sharon B. Sanders of Estill, SC; a special nephew raised in the home, Apostle Caleeb (Hannah) Sanders of Beaumont, TX; a very dependable and devoted sister, Luevenia S. Williams of Hampton, SC; two loving sisters, Jurene Ellison of Barnwell, SC, and Mary Ann (Ezekiel) Robertson of Luray, SC; raised in the home with him, Donell (Derek) Montgomery of Leland, NC; one brother, Robert (Sarah Lee) Sanders of Hampton, SC; goddaughter, Felicia Holmes of Savannah, GA; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Dantri of Savannah, GA, Patricia and Darlene Jenkins, both of Norfolk, VA, and Minnie Pearl Sanders of Estill, SC; aunts, Mae Bell Hill of Savannah, GA, and Minnie Chest of Allendale, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
