Junior Pittman

Toby’s life was simple, honest, and rooted in love for his family, love for his community, and love for the work that kept him grounded. His quiet presence, steady hands, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered. As we gather to honor his life, we give thanks for the years we were blessed to share with him and for the legacy of humility, kindness, and perseverance he leaves behind.

Junior Charlie “Toby” Pittman was born on September 25, 1958, in Jesup, Georgia, to the loving union of Charlie and Molly Pittman. Raised in a close‐knit family and community, Toby received his formal education in the Wayne County School System, where he developed the values of humility, hard work, and quiet strength that would define his life.

Toby was a man who found purpose in labor and took pride in every task placed in his hands. Whether working on local farms or tending to yards throughout the community, he approached each day with dedication and a steady spirit. His work was not just a job; it was his way of contributing, helping, and staying connected to the people around him. He continued working faithfully until he was no longer able to do so.

On May 19, 2026, Junior Charlie “Toby” Pittman peacefully departed this life. His passing leaves a space that can never be filled, yet his memory remains a lasting comfort to all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Molly Pittman; and his brothers, James Pittman and James Pittman.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a brother, Donald (Trudie) Pittman of Jesup, GA; four sisters, Deletha (Danny) Fussell of Screven, GA, Jacqueline (Darrell) Hopper of Savannah, GA, Brenda Allen of Savannah, GA, and Hazel Johnson of Tampa, FL; one aunt, Martha Pittman of Jesup, GA; one uncle, Eddie Pittman, Sr., of Screven, GA; special friends, Jerome Wilkins, Darrell Horne, and Pastor David Wilkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
