Keith Allen Obituary

Keith LaShawn Allen, known as Keith to some but “Shawn” to many, was born on June 10, 1972, to Horace and Helen H. Allen in Brunswick, Georgia. He received his formal education in the Camden County School System graduating with the Camden County High School Class of 1990. During his senior year at Camden County High School, he entered the delayed entry/enlistment program (DEP). 

Keith enlisted into the United States Navy in 1990. He received his naval training at Recruit Training Command Naval Training Center in Orlando, Florida. He served four years of military duty on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN 69 Norfolk, VA, During his military duties he received the following: National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Southeast Asia Service Medal, Navy Battle “E” Award. Military Education: NUCFLDA School. 

Shawn accepted Christ as his Savior and was united with Whole Armour International Church in Lowell, MA where he served on the media team as a videographer. In his leisure time, he enjoyed computer technology, anime, the Marvel universe, comics, and technological advancement. Shawn and his sister KaSandra “Sandy” shared a love of the Harry Potter Audio Books. 

He was employed with Express Scripts Patient Care Contact Center in St. Mary’s, Georgia, and later became employed with Florida Blue in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Keith LaShawn Allen departed this life on April 21, 2025. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth Allen, Sr., and Thelma Allen and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Ella Hutchinson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Helen and Horace Allen; sister, KaSandra Allen; nephew, Jonte Burch; aunts, Helen Allen, Elaine Hutchinson, Loretha Head, and Judy (James) White; uncles, Phillip (Linda) Mack, Haywood (Ocie) Allen, Charlie (Gloria) Rose, Kenneth (Cassandra) Allen, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Cody; special friend and companion, Denise Higgins; and a host of cousins, friends and coworkers.
