It's hard to understand why people are taken from us so young, but today, as a family, we find comfort in knowing that Kia was a special part of a well-lived life. When God calls our loved one home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Our hearts are heavy, and since Kia's death, we have been looking to Heaven for our strength. We realize that God is in control, our faith will comfort us, but it still doesn't mitigate the pain. Kia Laurice Eastman was born on August 28, 1979, to Valerie Eastman and Billy Eastman in Brunswick, Georgia. Kia received her formal education in the Glynn County School System in Brunswick, GA.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Kemarius Mangram of Columbus, GA; daughter, Aniya Theodore of St. Croix, USVI; mother, Valerie Eastman; father, Billy Eastman; siblings, Cedric Myers, Cicelia Brown, Schaylar Eastman, Keroy Eastman, KeToya Robinson and Billy Eastman, Jr.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
