Leotis Dixon, Sr., was born on September 17, 1945, in Savannah, Georgia. He was one of eight children born to the late Mildred Dixon and the late Walter L. Dixon. Being a part of a large family was special because it taught us the importance of family and how to show each other love. Leotis was educated in the Glynn County school system and graduated from Risley High School in 1967.
When a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing. Leotis was blessed to find Rosa Middlebrooks and they were united in holy matrimony on June 25, 1989, in Brunswick, Georgia. He was an awesome family man and provided well for his family.
Leotis accepted Christ at an early age. He joined First Jordan Grove MBC in 1995 where he served as an Usher. In his leisure, Leotis enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and spending time with family. Leotis had many passions throughout his life’s journey, and one of the many was when he took the ultimate journey through the Masonic Master Mason Order. While in that order he accomplished many houses until his health began to fail. Leotis was a true traveler within his craft. He was also a very hard worker. He was employed by the Cloister, Mock’s IGA, and Southeast Georgia Health System from which he retired as a laundry tech.
The Bible tells us to be ready at all times because no man knows the time of departure. Leotis Dixon, Sr., departed this life on July 7, 2024.
