Leroy Cooper, Jr. Obituary

A page has been turned; the chapter of my life is now completed. Remember the battle I fought to remain on earth with each of you. A victory has been won, a life’s book closed, and it was all part of God plans for me. Although, I have walked through the valley of the shadows of death, my awesome Father sent his amazing angels to guide me home. Family and friends, please accept the will of God, because a loving and awesome God knows what is best for each of us. I want each of my family members and friends to begin your journey of healing by remembering the joy that we shared through pictures, mementos, and favorite stories both funny and sad. Let your minds wonder the path of remembrance, reliving the joy and good times we have had.

Leroy was born on March 31, 1952, in Glynn County to his loving parents, the late Leroy Copper, Sr., and the late Mazell Phillips Cooper. He was taught by his parents that family is the cornerstone of one’s life, and that we should cherish every moment spent with them.

Leroy will be remembered for his hard work and dedication as a member of ILA Local 1423. He was not only a dedicated and hardworking member of the team but also a cherished friend and mentor to many.

On the morning of Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Golden Isle Hospice, Leroy Cooper, Jr., was called home. Leroy entered eternal rest surrounded by love and faith, his spirit now shines brightly in Heaven. Leroy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Leroy Copper, Sr. and Mazell Phillips Cooper, as well as his siblings, Donald Phillips and Shirley Cooper.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Regina Cooper of Brunswick, GA and a host of bonus children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
