Lillian Oliver Obituary

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. - Psalm 23:4

My life was beautiful for as long as it lasted, but the journey of my life has come to an end after eighty-four years. God promised all mankind three scores and ten. He gave me fourteen additional years because of my faith and strength. No matter how long God has entrusted our loved ones here on earth, their departure is hard to understand. As a family, you must accept God’s will and abide by his holy words. The bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. Considering the sorrow in our hearts, it is with humble submission and reverence that we must accept the will of God.

Lillian Oliver was born on August 6, 1941, to the late Allen and Mattie Mae Archer Oliver in Wrightsville, Georgia. She was educated in the Johnson County public school system, where she attended Dock Kemp High School. At an early age, she joined Sand Hill Baptist Church. She later moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia, and joined Emanuel Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Galilee Baptist when she moved to the Brookman Community. In the 1970s, she served as an usher faithfully until her health failed. She joined the Gospel Revelation Quartet Group and was a member for five years. She was also an Eastern Star. She was employed at Rich Sea Pak for a while. For forty-three years, she worked long and hard at Epworth-By-The-Sea until she retired.

Lillian Oliver departed this life on October 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Mattie Mae Archer Oliver; son, Willie Oliver, Jr.; sister, Pearlie Mae Green; three brothers, John Wesley Oliver, Allen Oliver, Jr., and Albert “Jack” Oliver; brother-in-law, Moelean Green; sister-in-law, Verbina “Trish” Oliver; two nieces, Angela Fisher and Melissa Oliver; and two nephews, Leroy Owens and Anthony Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Willie L. Oliver of Brunswick, GA, and Yusef Curry of Savannah, GA; four daughters, Linda Ferguson of Savannah, GA, Shirley Ann Lane, Yakima Curry, and RaSheba Curry, all of Brunswick, GA; one brother, A. C. (Dean) Oliver of Wrightsville, GA; two sisters, Latha (Isaac) Williams and Katherine (Duley) Wallace, all of Wrightsville, GA; one aunt, Lotis Pearl Oliver; four grandchildren, Willie Oliver, Jr., Ukima Lane, Marcus Lane, and Latosha Lane, all of Brunswick, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
