On Saturday, September 10, 2022, the one we loved so dearly, LINDSEY JAMES WRIGHT, SR., ended his earthly journey and entered into his resting place at the age of 67 at Hampton Regional Hospital in Hampton, South Carolina. LJ, the son of the late Janie Mae Singleton Ruth Wright and Brooker T. Wright, was born on February 9, 1955, in Hampton, South Carolina, where he spent his entire life. During his youth, he attended Second Thankful Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County District II and graduated from Estill High School in 1975 and furthered his education at Denmark Technical College.
After graduating, the next chapter of his life included marrying the love of his life, Ms. Loretta Johnson of Estill, South Carolina, on May 26,1979. This union was blessed with three beautiful children. One daughter, Angel Wright, preceded him in death. LJ worked his early years with Deloach Farms, Falcon Industries, and The Greenery as a foreman. In his later years, LJ operated his own lawn care service. On February 24, 2018, LJ and Loretta were re-joined in matrimony with a host of family and friends in attendance.
Lindsey James Wright, Sr., leaves a loving and devoted family to cherish precious memories: his loving wife, Loretta J. Wright of Varnville, South Carolina; one spoiled daughter, Leslie (Eric) Hutchinson of Varnville, South Carolina; one extremely spoiled son, Lindsey (Jennifer) Wright, Jr., of Lexington, South Carolina; four sisters, Carrie Cohen, Shirley Brown, Mary Ann Duncan, all of Nixville, South Carolina, and Annette Rowe of Savannah, Georgia; three brothers, John H. A lifetime of memories will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends who were blessed by God to know him. We will stroll down memory lane for the unforgettable times where we laughed and the few times where we cried because a lifetime of memories will never be enough.
