I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” –II Timothy 4:7-8
On March 17, 1950, which was a beautiful winter day when the seasons were in the mist of changing from winter to spring, the Almighty God manifested his Glory in the lives of Clarence and Mary Lee Hill in Brunswick, Georgia, by blessing them with a beautiful daughter who they named Louise. The family emphasis was on the importance of educating their children in the Glynn County Public School System. Louise graduated from Risley High School in Brunswick, Georgia. She furthered her education at Brunswick College in Brunswick, Georgia. Louise accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Shiloh Baptist Church. Louise Grant enlisted into the United States Air Force. She was honorably discharged.
Love spoke to her heart; Louise Hill was united in holy matrimony with John Earl Grant.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading the Bible, doing crossword puzzles, and taking care of her grandchildren.
Her legacy of sharing love and being loved shall be a blueprint for all of us to follow. On October 28, 2023, Louise heard the call of God, took his hand, and claimed victory. Now the battle has been fought and the victory has been won. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Grant, Sr.; daughter, Patricia Hill; father, Clarence Hill; mother, Mary Lee Hill; sister, Lucille Baggs; brothers, Christopher Baggs, Sr., Edward Baggs, William Baggs, and Michael Hughes.
We are grateful to God for blessing our lives with her. She leaves to cherish beautiful memories: daughters, Rene Tyson (Shawn) and Dawn Dixon; adopted daughter, Latisa Harris; son, D’Andre
Dixon; grandchildren, Reginald Jackson, Dawnea Pinkney, Ashantae Hill, Shakea Hill, Corey Tyson, Keondra Tyson, Daishawn Dixon Mitchell, Donnisha Dixon, Robbie Michelle Jeffcoat, and Nadia Jeffcoat; sisters, Christine Jackson and Arlene Jones; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
