Reflections of Ninety-Five Years
Forever In Our Hearts
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Her life was fulfilling throughout its duration, concluding after ninety-five years of dedicated effort. According to scripture, mankind is granted three score and ten years, and I am grateful for the additional twenty-five years. The mysteries concerning lifespan are beyond full human comprehension, including the length of time granted to man. Regardless of how long our loved ones remain with us, their loss can be difficult to comprehend. As a family, it is important to accept the will of God and uphold biblical teachings. The Bible states that being absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
On September 24, 1930, which was a beautiful fall day in Hampton County, South Carolina, God blessed the late Archie Cohen and the late Anna Deloach Cohen with an amazing daughter that they named Louise Cohen. Louise was educated in the public school system of Hampton County, South Carolina. She was married to the late Elbert Williams. She loved meeting people, traveling, helping the needy and caring for her family.
Growing up in a household where God was the foundation of their lives, Louise accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and worshipped at Efferson Baptist Church, in the Nixville community of Estill, SC. At Efferson, she was more than a church secretary. She was a member of the senior choir, and Good Samaritans. She was more than a missionary. She carried the Word not just in speech, but in how she lived every day. As the mother of the church, she nurtured, guided, and loved so many as if they were her own. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was employed by Home Health Care Service, Wayne Line Chair Factory, Ridgeland, SC. She was the last mother of the Chocolate City Road Community, always sharing memorable thoughts of the past and stories about different family members.
God saw Louise’s struggles and pain, so He sent His angels on April 12, 2026, to reclaim His gift to this world. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; siblings, Leola Gordon, Rosa Flower, Pearl Brantley, and Archie Cohen, Jr. Louise was the last surviving child of Archie Cohen and Anna Deloach Cohen.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Annie Moore of West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Malia Dobson of West Columbia, SC, Raymond Dobson of Columbia, SC, Junie Wilson of Philadelphia, PA, Melvin and Pamela both of South Carolina; godson, Harrison (Naomi) Brantley, Piscataway, NJ; two special nieces, Elnora Newton and Pearlie Brantley both of Estill, SC; sister-in-law, Earlene Williams; brother-in-law, Edgar (Elizabeth) Williams both of Pineland, SC; special friend, Addie Haynes; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
