Louvenia "Sister" Alexander Obituary

I am confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from this body, and to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8)

“I went home on the morning train, so goodbye world.” It is with a shout of joy and a grateful heart that I say “see you in the morning” to all those I leave behind! For I knew that if this old earthly body gave out, that I had a building from God, eternal in the heavens, not made by man’s hands. I have overcome the world because my faith did not stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God. To my beautiful daughter and loved ones that I am leaving behind, as you celebrate my return to my Heavenly Father, I want each of you to always remember that some people die without having really lived. Others continue to live, although they have died. Don’t worry about me, I lived a full life and now I am resting in the arms of my Heavenly Father.

LOUVENIA MAE ALEXANDER was born on April 2, 1951, to Earnestine Nobles Alexander and Benjamin Alexander in Pennick, Georgia. Louvenia Alexander received her formal education at
Risley High School in Brunswick, Georgia. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with First Jordan Grove Baptist Church, where she served as an usher. The most important thing to remember is that Louvenia loved the Lord. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time caring for others and attending church. Family was next to her love for God Almighty. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a true friend to many in our community.

Louvenia Alexander departed this life on June 17, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Rebecca Alexander, Julia Jones, Velva Hankerson and Blanche Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Shannon (James) Patterson; three grandchildren, James (Roneka) Patterson, Jr., Brunswick, Georgia, Jylah Patterson, Atlanta, Georgia, and Joshua Patterson, Brunswick, Georgia; one great-granddaughter, Evie Patterson; siblings, Benjamin Alexander, Neptune, New Jersey, Celestine Cartwright, Delray Beach, Florida, Frances (George) Bain, Boyton, Florida, Paul (Julia) Alexander, Asbury Park, New Jersey, and Elvia Alexander, Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friend, and her church family.
