Life has many struggles, and with the help of God, we are equipped to overcome the obstacles in our lives. Death has invaded the Williams family again. Today is a challenging time in our lives, but we keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. To those I am leaving behind, remember the good and troubled times, the laughter, the journey I’ve walked over the years, and the exceptional life I lived until the very end. I know that my sudden departure has created a gloomy situation in each of your lives but keep smiling and surely the sun will eventually shine through because death is evitable. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Continue helping humanity, like I have always done. I will miss you all dearly, so keep soaring until the day comes when we’re together again.”
Marian Lynette Williams Hampton was born on November 10, 1964, to Eleanor Louise Pickett Williams and Aaron Robert Williams, Jr., in Brunswick, Georgia.
Marian Lynette Williams Hampton received her formal education in the public school system and graduated from Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas. After migrating back to the Brunswick, Georgia, community, Marian accepted Christ as her Savior and was united with Shiloh Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA. She later became a member of Fishers of Men World Harvest Christian Church under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Alfred Jackson.
Marian Lynette Williams was united in holy matrimony with Sanford Loreno Hampton, Jr. Their union was blessed with Sanford Lorenzo Hampton III, Leroy Keith, Jr., and Aaron Lavon Culver.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and going to Bible study. Her favorite song was “I Believe I’ll Run On” by The Mighty Clouds of Joy, and her favorite saying was “Just Stand.” Marian had a contagious personality that drew people towards her. She also had a special love for people and for her family. If she told you that a task was going to happen, you could count on it being completed in a timely manner. She loved the finer things of life and worked very hard to accomplish them. That beautiful smile that she greeted people with and the way it lit up her surroundings spoke volume about her true personality. She had this special gracefulness in her walk and her mannerism. She was employed by Winn Dixie, CVS Pharmacy, then later employed by Neighborhood Walmart. She was co-owner of Hampton Seafood. She also worked for R. Michael Patrick Attorney-at-Law.
Sister Marian Lynette Williams Hampton departed this life on August 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor Louise Pickett Williams and Aaron Robert Williams, Jr., and husband, Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her three sons, Leroy Keith, Jr., Aaron Lavon Culver, and Sanford Lorenzo Hampton III; three sisters, Sharon Valencia Williams, Deborah Ann Williams Early, and Gwendolyn Marie Williams Thompson; one aunt, Sandra Crawford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and grieving friends; and she also leaves her loving daughter-in-love, Josephine Thomas.
