We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8
My life on earth has been like a ship along the shore. I have been many places and enjoyed many wonderful people throughout my sail in this thing called life. Although, my life appears to be brief,
I’ve lived an exciting and full life during my sixty-one years of sailing on earth. As you celebrate the end of my life’s journey, I pray that each of you will find comfort in knowing that a loving and compassionate God knows what’s best for each of us. We've shared so many fun memories, countless hours of laughter and so much love, so keep these memories within each of your heart and minds. Life has a joyful beginning but sometimes it can be a painful ending for those loved ones, we leave behind. I don’t want my exit from this life to be painful for any of my family and friends, so begin each day with my contagious smile. The joy that I brought to this world began in Brunswick, Georgia on November 27, 1961, when God gave the late Clarence A. Perry and the late Wilma Jean Perry another beautiful and intelligent daughter to add to the beauty and love that had been bestowed upon the Perry family.
Marsha Perry Muse received her formal education in the Glynn County School System in Brunswick, Georgia. She furthered her education at Riley Trade Institution and College of Coastal Georgia. She accepted Christ as her Savior at Zion Baptist Church at an early age.
The bible tells us when a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing. Marsha Perry was united in holy matrimony with Edward Muse on May 14, 2001, in St. Mary’s, Georgia.
Marsha was always an avid bible scholar. She enjoyed reading and studying her bible. Family was always a priority in her life, so spending time with her family was imperative in her life. She was employed by International Longshoremen Association as a Laborer from 1987 until 2022. She was a member of ILA Local Union #1423.
My death was like a ship being put out to sea; and as my spirit faded away into the horizon on March 15, 2023, my Heavenly Father sent his angels to reclaim His gift to the Perry family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Perry and Wilma Perry; her sister, Willetta Perry; niece, Takeila Settles Bashshar; and nephews, Maurice Perry and Andre Perry Flowers.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband and life partner of 34 years, Edward “DD” Muse, who was devoted, loving, caring, supportive and always treated Marsha as his queen; her precious, beloved and devoted daughter, Thewanna Nixon Austell and loving son-in-law Dwayne Austell of Brunswick, GA; four adored grandchildren, Petty Officer Dwayne Austell, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA, Petty Office Deniya Austell Drake (LaRon) of Jacksonville, Fl, D’Liyah Austell who attends Fort Valley State University and D’Mariyah Austell who attends Brunswick High School; two adored great-grandchildren, Dior Austell of Brunswick, GA and Lennox Drake of Jacksonville, FL. Marsha also leaves to cherish her memories eight loving siblings, Teresa Baker, Andrea Perry Allen (Alvin), Constance Brown, David Edwards (Angela), Adarryl Perry (Thwonna) all of Brunswick, GA, Clarence Bashshar (Jessica) of Williams Town, NJ, Dr. Alvin Sharell Perry of Atlanta, GA, and Tawana Perry Edwards (Driscoll) of San Diego, CA; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Martin of Brooklyn, NY and Rita Muse Rives of Brunswick, GA; a god sister, Marie Lester White of Savannah, GA; nine nephews, twelve nieces and a wonderful host of cousins, loved ones, friends and coworkers.
