“The Lord Giveth and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21
Sometimes, God lends the world His children only for a little while. No parent plans to bury his or her child, but when God sends His Angels to bring His child home much sooner than we planned, we’ll brave the grief that comes and try to understand.
“And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying. Neither shall there be anymore pain. For the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
It’s hard to understand why people are taken from us so young, but, today as a family, we find comfort in knowing that Martez was a special part of a well lived life. When God calls our loved ones home,
He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Martez Delando Roby departed this life on January 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tracy Clay, and his grandfather, James P. Roby.
Martez leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Tishequa Roby; his children, Laquentin Miller, Tyla, Taniyah, and Tanyla Roby, and Lundyn Farrell; his father, Robert (Ora) Roby; grandmothers, Mary F. Brunt and Alice Roby; siblings, Kenshawn, Charmayne, and Robbie Roby; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, his extended family of Veronica Vance, Henry Dyer, and Xontavious Hawkins, and a host of special friends.
