Mel Lamar Henley, Sr

The life of Mel Lamar Henley, Sr. began in Brunswick, Georgia on February 27, 1992, when God gave Earnest Melvin and Sarah Henley a beautiful bundle of joy. He received his formal education in the Glynn County School System in Brunswick, Georgia. He accepted Christ as his Savior on February 28, 2004, at the age of twelve and was united with Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a choir member.  To my family members and friends when the tears start to flow, remember all those things that made me happy and never forget my beautiful smile. My life was brief, but I enjoyed life to the fullest. Mel was the kind of individual that enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his son more than anything. He loved being with his nieces and nephews. He also loved reading his bible, singing old hymns, traveling, and enjoying his friends and family.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Earnest Melvin and Sarah Henley; son, Mel Lamar Henley, Jr.; brothers, Terence Brooks, Jonathan Henley and Tarrance Lee; sister, Leatrice (Tony) Perry; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear friend, Erica Johnson.

Due to the current state of (the COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside or funeral services, either inside or outside, must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home or any other facility at any given period during the viewing process.  We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative of each of you for all acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time in their lives.
