When the time comes to bid this life farewell, we should find comfort in knowing that a loving God will be there with us to guide us to our new home. On October 29, 2021, God called one of His Angels to Glory. Our family will embrace the will of God and honor the beautiful memories that Michael Hughes leaves behind.
Michael Hughes was born on August 20, 1951 to the late Emma L. Baggs and the late William Pitts in Brunswick, Georgia. He attended high school at Risley High in Brunswick, Georgia. After graduating, he went on to drive trucks for twenty plus years. He also drove cabs for “On Time Taxi”.
Michael was also well loved and respected in the church and gospel community. He sang with “The Mighty Flames of Joy” for many years and also attended Bibleway International Church with Apostle Rosemary Woods.
Michael was preceded in death by parents, Emma L. Baggs and William Pitts, Sr.; four brothers, Chris Baggs, Sr., Edward Baggs, William Baggs, Sr., and William Pitts; two sisters, Christine Pitts and Willodeen Pitts.
He leaves to cherish his memories: seven children. Mike Jackson, Vivian Williams, Michael Hughes, Jr., Dwayne Hughes, Simone Hughes, Harrington Hughes, and Tomoka Hughes; four bonus kids, Lakeshia Nunnally, Myra Wilcox, Olivia Wilcox and J’Had Fullmore; four sisters, Ruby Daniels, Christine Jackson, Arlene Jones and Charlene Williams; a special aunt that was like a sister, Louis Grant; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many, many friends.
