Michael Keven Staley was born on August 30, 1959. He graduated from Glynn Academy High School in Brunswick, Georgia and was employed by ILA Local Union 1423, where he dedicated 43 years of hardworking leadership.
Michael’s passion outside of his job was barbecuing; you could smell his grill a mile away. Mike was loved by everyone who crossed paths with him. He was a loving dad, friend, and husband. On August 31, 2021, Michael passed away in his sleep at Southeast Georgia Health System.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Rosetta Staley; sister, Suezette Staley; and three uncles, Buster Buroughton, Bobby Buroughton, and Junior Buroughton.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Shirleen Staley; six brothers, Bruce Buroughton, Clifford (Veronica) Staley, Wendell (Treniece) Staley, Darryl (Dysheka) Smith, Anthony Smith, and S. B. Guyton; two sisters, Katherine (Chuck) King and Suezette (Craig) Hudson; two aunts, Camilla Buroughton and Elizabeth Buroughton; five children, Lilesheia (Ian) Baker, Kimberly Hardee, Michael Staley, Jalisa Brown, and Keven Staley; fifteen grandchildren, Janyia Ross, Sharod Ross, Derriyana Johnson, Patrick Fairell, Ta’Joura Rawls, Demond Rawls, Sequoia Hardee, Ian Baker, Jhumaria Jackson, Antonio Hudson, Tamiya, Lauren, Rufus Hawkins, and Callie; two great-grandchildren, Harlem Harris and Harmoni Hawkins; special brothers-in-law, Kenneth Mathis and Cleveland Nobles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to the current state of (COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside services must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home at any given period during the viewing process. We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative to each of you for your prayers and considerations during this difficult time in their lives.
