Mother Alice Perry Hightower Obituary

You can shed tears that I am gone, or you can smile because you know where I have gone. You can probably close your eyes and pray that I’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and remember that I lived for the Lord. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see me, or you can show others the type of love I’ve shared over the years. I want each of you to live by the principle that I have always believed: “Be not dismayed whatever betide, God will take care of you, beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you.”

Alice Lee Hightower was born on March 7, 1937, to Mr. Lee Perry and Mrs. Alice Lee Perry. She was a faithful member of Holy Band Deliverance Temple for 54 years, serving under the pastorship of Apostle Harry Brown until 1997. She continued her membership under Bishop Iris Wright until God sent His angels to bring His servant home. She was known as “The Queen of Holy Band.”
She was employed by Sea Island Cloister for over 40 years. She also served as the president of the Glynn County, Georgia, National Usher Board Union. She was also a strong member of the local NAACP chapter. We are in this world for a limited time. This world is not our home, we are just passing through on our way to a mansion that God has prepared for us. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength, they might be fourscore years (Psalm 90:10). God gave his servant Alice fifteen additional years. Alice Lee Hightower departed this life on February 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Perry and Alice Lee Perry; brothers, Vance “Sam” Perry, Lee Perry, Jr., and Lawrence Perry; and sisters, Ernestine Perry
Harris, Annie Ruth Perry, Lena Mae Gibbs, Fannie Sessions, Latonya Gail Perry, Wendell Perry, and Romona Perry.

Those left to cherish her precious memories: her daughter, Deborah H. (Charles) Brown of Brunswick, GA; grandson, Shawn Brown of Brunswick, GA, Joey Drayton, and Joseph Hightower, Jr.;
granddaughters, Evelyn Hightower of Jesup, GA, Takein Taylor, April Hightower and Shatara Jones; great-grandchildren, Shauntay (Quan) Drake, Joron Brown; brothers, Wille C. Perry, Cornelious Perry, and Andrew “Shrimp” Perry, all of Fort Myers, FL; sisters, Lillian Powell of Fort Myers, FL, and Barbara Wood, Cynthia (Albert) Blue, and Jannie Edwards, all of Palatka, FL; sisters-in-law, Georgia Gray, Jaunita Goodwill of Brunswick, GA, and Evelyn Cooper of Philadelphia, PA; godchildren, Earline Allen, Johnathan Williams, Michael Willie, Daniel Wynn, Sr., James Brooks, and Larese Brown; special daughters in Christ, Marion Johnson, Wilma Roberson, Carolyn Allen, Shelia “Slim” Anderson and Shelby Mott; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends.
