Neil Rubenstein

Neil Stephen Rubenstein was born on January 4, 1943, to the union of Hyman and Tillie Rubenstein in Bronx, New York. He received his formal education at Inglewood High
School in Inglewood, California. He furthered his education at California States University, Los Angeles majoring in the field of education. Neil enlisted into the United States Army on March 20, 1961. He served in Field Communications as a Radio Operator,and ventured on hazardous missions to West Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis. During his tenure in the service, he received numerous accommodations and was awarded with an honorable discharge. After his enlistment ended in the Army, he was employed by Boeing in the City of Long Beach, California, and became a supervisor over aircraft maintenance and mechanics.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed writing for the Culver City Observer Newspaper. He also loved politics and had a major influence on Local, City, and State elections in the State of California. Furthermore, he served as the Culver City Commissioner for the Los Angeles International Airport. Neil accepted Christ as his Savior, and he enjoyed fellowshipping with the Saints of God. His favorite scripture passage was the 23rd Psalm.

On September 20, 2014, Neil was united in holy matrimony with Theodorsia Smith by Pastor Danny Buskey in Waycross, Georgia. Their union was blessed with three stepsons, David Mines, James Smith III (preceded him in death), and Dedrick L. Smith; and one daughter-in-law, Pam Mines. Neil Stephen Rubenstein departed this life on November 17, 2022. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Rubenstein.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Theodorsia Rubenstein; brother, Michael Rubenstein; two stepsons, David Mines and Dedrick L. Smith; three grandsons, Robbie McAllister, James
Smith IV, and Jeremy T. Smith; four great-grandchildren, Rylan McCullough, Jaliyah Smith, Andre McAllister, and Ariyah McAllister; favorite niece, Bonnie Garrison; her daughter, Rachel; sons, Riley, Cody, and Tyler Garrison; and a host of other relatives, friends, and colleagues.
