Pamela Grovner Obituary

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." — John 11:25-26

With heartfelt love and deep gratitude, we celebrate the life of Pamela Lynette Grovner, daughter of the late Jessie Williams and the late William Taylor who was born on January 26, 1960, in Brunswick, Georgia. Pamela was a woman of grace, compassion, and unwavering faith are qualities that shaped her journey and touched the lives of all who knew her. She was educated in the Glynn County Public School System.

At an early age, Pamela accepted Christ as her Savior at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, beginning a lifelong walk with the Lord. Her faith remained the foundation of her life, guiding her steps, her service, and the love she poured into her family and community. Later in life, Pamela became a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church, where she worshipped, served, and continued to grow in her walk with God. A servant at heart, Pamela found joy in giving to others. She loved cooking for family, friends, and anyone in need. She also served with dedication in Zion’s Feed the Community Program, where her generosity and compassion shone brightly.

Proverbs 18:22 teaches that “he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord,” reminding us that marriage is both a blessing and a divine gift. On May 13, 2001, Pamela was united in holy matrimony to Mack Grovner, Jr., in Brunswick, GA. Together, they shared years of love, partnership, and devotion until his passing.

Pamela lived a life marked by kindness and service. She was employed by the Glynn County School System, where she worked faithfully as both a custodian and a bus monitor. Her gentle spirit and warm presence made her a beloved figure among students and staff alike. Pamela enjoyed music and was known for her lively spirit. She was a talented dancer who could often be found in the center of a dance battle at gatherings and celebrations.

The Bible teaches that death is not the end, but a transition to eternal life with God for those who believe in Christ. Pamela peacefully departed this life on May 11, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mack Grovner, Jr.; mother, Jessie Williams; father, William Taylor; grandmother, Margaret Kennedy; two sisters, Deborah Cooper and Vanessa Herrington; and three brothers: William Henry Taylor, Lawrence Cohen, and Michael Cohen.

Pamela leaves to cherish her memories and continue her legacy: son, Jimmie (Candy) Holmes, Jr.; daughter, Angela Smith; bonus daughter, Antionette Amos; godson, Marquis Higginbotham, all of Brunswick, GA; brothers, Julius Smith, Sr. and Bobby Bell; sisters, Retha (Ware) White of Willingboro, NJ, Sandra (Bobby) Frazier of Brunswick, GA, Shazaliza Williams of Newark, NJ, Cathy Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Judy Taylor and Janet (Marvin) Anderson, both of Stafford, VA, thirteen grandchildren; two great‐grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Pamela’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service. Though she has transitioned from this earthly home, her light continues to shine through the many lives she touched. Her memory will remain a blessing, her legacy a source of strength, and her
spirit a reminder of God’s enduring grace.
