When that time comes to bid this life farewell, we should find comfort in knowing that a loving God will be there with us to guide us to our new home. There is peace and tranquility on this journey to eternity. Although, the death of a loved one is a difficult experience for a family to endure and causes much sorrow and pain. God provides scriptures from the Bible to assure our beloved ones that death is evitable, but his comforting words will remain with those who grieve until the very end.
The creation of a new life is a blessing to a family. Patricia Ann Wright was a blessing to the union of James Wright and Ella Edmond in Brunswick, Georgia on June 17, 1954. She was the seventh of twelve children. Their parents raised them to be strong, independent individuals who could endure obstacles and rise beyond expectations. Patricia was educated in the Glynn County public school system and was a graduating member of Brunswick High School Class of 1972.
After graduation, Patricia and Derrick C. Sheffield were married on November 6, 1972, and remained married until Derrick’s passing on August 5, 2012. They had two children: Patrina (Charlie) and Derrick, Jr.; three grandchildren: India, Lia and Layla; and one great-grandchild, Jonah.
Patricia began her career working for the Federal Government; Defense Commissary Agency (DECA) and the Department of the Army (DAR). Patricia was a cashier and quickly was promoted to the Office and Produce Manager for DECA. In 2012, she transferred to the Branch Medical Service for the Department of the Army and became a Medical Referral Manager. After more than 30 years of service, Patricia retired from federal services in 2011. Later, Patricia married Gary L. Boggs of Hope Mills, North Carolina. While their union was not blessed with children, their blended family grew to include his son: Gary Jr., (Keisha) and her two children. Together, they enjoyed their retirement and the love of watching westerns, listening to music, and traveling.
Patricia departed this life on April 30, 2024. She is survived by her husband, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends.
