Patrick Pinckney Obituary

This chapter of my life has ended. Now, a brand-new page for me unfolds and I’m home with Jesus for eternity. Some of you perhaps may weep because my eyes are closed in eternal sleep, but, my beloved family, my spirit has gone to a world far above to be with other loved ones that have gone on before me. My spirit shall wait a while in that Heavenly place until the day we shall all meet again. My heart is filled with love for each of you. Don’t fill your lives with so much sorrow because you feel that my life was cut short. When God gave me to this world, he wrote forty-seven years in the Book of Life. I lived a full and joyful life. My twin and I were God’s gift to our parents. What a blessing we were to them. During my life, I have done my best at being who I was as an individual. Patrick Edwin Pinckney, Sr., affectionally known as “Pat” was born on October 18, 1976, to Henry Brown and the late Marilyn Pinckney in Columbia, South Carolina. I was educated in Hampton District 2 schools, and I grew up and learned many life lessons from the town of Estill.

Pat was a graduating member of Estill High School class of 1996. Most of his barber training and experiences occurred in the restrooms at Estill High School and his grandmother’s front porch on Rooster Ridge. A er graduating from barbering school at Denmark Technical College, Pat moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where he worked as a master barber for 25 years. He was a very hard-working, passionate, and dedicated entrepreneur in the business world. He worked at Cut-N-Up Barbershop for 16 years before moving on to open his own barbershop, Ur Decision Cutz. He also worked for Celebrity Status Barbershop for a few years and moved to spend the last three and a half years of his career at IronWorkz Barbershop. Pat loved to watch the Tennessee Titans and the Georgia Bulldogs, and he would often watch them with his friends and family. He loved music, talking on the phone, and spending time with those closest to him.

When God sent his angels to return his lent son on April 14, 2024, which was much sooner than we planned, we’ll brave the grief that comes and try to understand. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Pinckney.

He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Marquis Taylor, Julia Pinckney, Bernadette Pinckney, and Patrick Pinckney, Jr.; father, Henry Brown; twin brother, Paul Pinckney; grandchildren, Taliyah and Mariyah Taylor; and many relatives and friends.
