It’s hard to understand why people are taken from us so young, but today, as a family, we find comfort in knowing that Paul was a special part of a well-lived life. When God calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Paul’s time with us was very brief, but it was filled with love, joy, and boundless energy. Paul’s spirit will continue to live through those loved ones he leaves behind to carry on his legacy. Paul Donte McGirth was born on November 17, 1975, to Charles and Brenda McGirth in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Paul Donte McGirth received his formal education in the Glynn County public school system in Brunswick, Georgia. He furthered his education at Coastal College of Georgia in Brunswick, Georgia, and later became a Longshoreman. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of seven and was united with the Greenland Baptist Church, where he served as a junior choir member. Paul Donte McGirth was united in holy matrimony with Darlene Smith on December 29, 2011, in Brunswick, Georgia. In his leisure, he enjoyed cars and was a music enthusiast. There were many things he loved, especially the color purple. He was employed by the International Longshoremen Association #1423 for over twenty years.
Paul Donte McGirth departed this life on May 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles McGirth; maternal grandparents, Armor and Lola Stephens; and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Mamie McGirth.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Darlene McGirth; sons, Marshon, Paul Jr., and Perry McGirth; mother, Brenda Stephens McGirth; brother, Jerrick L. McGirth; stepchildren, Destiny, Khaila, Keyshawn, and Akemi Johnson; mother-in-law, Connie (Robert) Towns; and other relatives and friends.
