Paul Murphy Nelson, Jr. was born on February 8, 1941, to the union of Paul and Beauty Brown Nelson in Lake City, Florida.

Paul Murphy Nelson, Jr., received his formal education in Glynn County Public School System, graduating from Risley High Schoon in Brunswick, Georgia. He furthered his education at US Army Infantry School in Fort Benning, Georgia.

Paul Murphy Nelson, Jr. was united in holy matrimony with Minnie Lee Crooks on April 19, 1963, in Brunswick, Georgia. Their union was blessed with four children: Anthony Nelson, Paul R. Nelson III, Carlton G. Nelson, and Erica S. Nelson.

In his leisure, he enjoyed working on vehicles, building upgrades to his house to accommodate his family.

Paul Murphy Nelson, Jr. enlisted into the United States Army on January 9, 1963. He was honorably discharged on January 7, 1966. He was an automobile mechanic and an expert with rifle M-14. He was employed by Georgia Pacific-Pulp Operation as a Bleach Plant Supervisor for 27 years. He was a member of American Legion #507.

Paul Murphy Nelson, Jr. departed this life on November 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Beauty Nelson; son, Anthony Nelson and many other relatives.

He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy: wife, Minnie L. Nelson; sons, Paul R. Nelson III and Carlton G. Nelson; daughter, Erica S. Nelson; extended child, Katrina S. Crooks; grandchildren, Angelica Johnson, Mileah Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Braxton Wynn; great grand Angelia; sister, Bernice Scrivens; brothers, Jenard (Sharon) Nelson, Michael (Kira) Nelson and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Due to the current state of (COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside services must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home at any given period during the viewing process.  We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative to each of you for all acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time in their lives.
